I made a whirl-wind trip to Louisville Kentucky this week. All in all, I was gone around 35 hours. I flew out Wednesday morning and flew back Thursday afternoon. I wasn't anticipating having that land on my plate this week, leaving the country next WEDNESDAY and all. I have to tell you though, I love Kentucky and I'll take any excuse I can to get there ... even if it means a funeral (which I cried the ENTIRE way through).
If you didn't know Russ Summay, you were MISSING OUT. I have a handful of folks in my life that have marked me and changed how I view the Lord. In fact if you could see their fingerprints on me, Russ and Jane Summay would be too numerous to count. Russ showed me many new things and I got to know the best part of him: his passion for sharing the Gospel around the world. The word "gosepel" means "Good News" and that's exactly how Russ shared Jesus with everyone- Jesus was the best news in the world and it had to be shared. HITYL, Russ? ITYN.

For some of the entertaining parts of this trip:
1. In Chicago on my way to KY, I saw an old woman with a rat tail. That's right- short little granny, rat tail hanging down the back.
2. In Louisville on the way home, I was sitting near the women's restroom. A man about 6 feet tall with gray hair approaches the women's restroom door and yells, "Momma!" Yes, its true. A man in his mid-fifties yelled into the bathroom for his mother. I fully expect to see an old woman walking out of the bathroom, but no- the woman he was yelling to? She was a short 40ish asian looking woman. Momma? Really?
3. In Chicago on the way home, I see a 25ish year old guy walk by, catching my eye because he was cute. Yes indeed. I look him over and discover that on his feet are a pair of women's Ugg Boots. No kidding. WOW.

Hey Jordanne,
I know that Russ and Jane have been such a huge part of your life, and a love like theirs - in your life - is priceless. Keep allowing yourself to grieve, to cry, even uncontrollably if needed....
And know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you are carrying out the legacy that Russ gave so much of his life for...This trip you are leaving on this week, is an amazing opportunity to honor him, his life, and his faith.
Love you girl, and praying for you...
ashlee
